Default oil leaking from air cleaner

I know many have had this problem, but what fixed it? I have tried searching but no luck. I noticed some oil spots on my bike between the pushrods during my last wash job and again today after a short ride. So I took the a/c off and noticed some oil on the plate. I know its coming from the 2 vent tubes, but what did you do to stop it?

ok, I found some old threads....gotta search blowby.... I guess I will:

1. Add cleaning the a/c to my monthly list.
2. Quit beating on it before 200 degrees.
3. Quit worrying about it.

Default Here is what I found

1) Oil level was too high. As soon as it was brought back to where it should be. Oil stopped.
2) On a friends bike, found that the banjo bolts were note tight enough. Removed them, put blue locktite on them. Reinserted, and presto. No more oil in the filter box. The only other thing that will bring oil into the air box is the filter is getting too full of crud and it won't breath correctly.

Give this a try and ride safe. Tom

I put sealer on the bango bolt threads. Stopped my leakage and I run the oil at the hot mark when cold. 09 Ultra

My Indy fixed it by running a line from the cleaner to the bottom of the bike...

Try taking your oil level just shy of the mark. I'm not too keen on reducing oil. I know a little for some are normal. Pending on how hard the driving is been. I can only say that when I keep the filter clean.. I have no problem. This is why I like washable filters. KNN or the HD filter. I have had good luck with both. Preference is the choice here. Clean is the necessity for the most part. Good luck. Tom
