I was working with my local dealer on a SE 103 Stage II Kit. He tells me this will void my factory and extended warranty. Is this true? It's all HD parts and the local dealer is installing it.
Please reply with info, I really want this done. My extended warranty is good un 2012 and I dont want to mess that up.
Thanks

You need to provide some more information. What year is the bike and when did you take delivery? Unless HD changed the factory warranty, any SE kit installed more than 90 days after delivery won't be covered by the warranty. You should check the P&A catalog because some of those kits retain the MOCO warranty IIRC.
As for the HD extended service plan, get it out and read it. It has very tough provisions regarding engine modifications resulting in lose of coverage of the engine if repairs are needed down the road. In essence, it provides that only the drivetrain "as delivered" is covered.
In additon to whatever advice/opinions you get here, just read the ESP and the P&A catalog regarding coverages and exclusions from coverage.

I am having the 103 stg II kit put in my 10 RKC as I write this. According to my dealer, if they do any work for the 1st 60 days it is covered under the warranty for the two years as long as the parts are from a "factory" kit.
Reliability is important and the warranty is worth something. It is costing too much, but things done by the dealer always cost too much. They wanted 1000 mi on it, so I was happy to do that. (Probably so that I could get the 1000 mi service done on it and pay them more)
By the way HD no longer stands for "Hundred Dollars", it seems it is more like "Hundred-fifty Dollars".

I have a 2010 Road Glide Custom and I'm waiting on all the parts for a Stage II 103 install. My dealer told me that they would warranty it just like it was factory installed. He went on to say that since that kit is consider a "race kit" that other dealers "may" balk at doing any engine warranty work. It would be at the discretion of the other dealer and would only be an issue if I was out of town. He said this wouldn't be an issue with the street/stage-1 kits.

Heck guys.
My dealer put the 103 stageII on right out of the crate!
Never said nothing about within 60 days, the only thing they said was aslong as I had the kit put on before I took delivery then it was covered by the 2 year factory+ extended warranty. But if I did it afterwards, it would only be 90 day warranty.
Of course though that was back in 2007, policies may have changed.
