Default Cleaning up the Road King Rear-End

In the image above, you can see the rear end of a road king that is very similar to my new Road King. The bar that goes between the two saddle bags, and has the attachment for the License plate, i was wondering if you can remove this guard? I have searched, but I don't know exactly what its called. I am just looking to clean up the look of the back end of the bike.

That must be the new Invisible King. I'm guessing that you are asking about what some call the "grab bar". Yes, it can be eliminated. There are several options. Do a search for grab bar, and come back if you have any questions.

Beemervet,

Yea, the image didn't work. You are correct, and thank you for the definition, I really want to remove it, but I'll first need to decide how and where I want to relocate the license plate.

gmc,

Thank you for that image, how did you do the license plate re-locate? I'm actually up here in Utah for a couple weeks, I love the view!

If anyone has some more pictures of what they did, I'd love to see them!

I originally used the AutoGem license plate bracket...I also installed AutoGem Shotgun lights after removing the grab rail...

Then I went with a Softbrake plate bracket after I removed the bag rails...

KWB377,

GREAT looking bike! I really like the Leather Covered Hard-bags, but mine has the standard lockable hard bags. I would like to get a set of both though. I like the license plate bracket, I'll either have to find a way do one myself, or buy one of these solutions!

I also used the Auto Gem lights, and a Kuryakn rear turn signal bar with a lit plate mount underneath. I'd post pics but I'm having problems with the copy/paste thing.

I will tell you that there are two ways to remove it, cut it, or remove it. I have a street glide and I removed mine also, I also replaced the grab bar with the auto gem lights as shown on the bike above. I will tell that those are really nice and add a little light to the rear of the bike, and for me have become a bit of a conversation starter.
Havent met one person yet that doesnt like them...
