The saddlebags are the biggest difference. Hard bags/soft bags

Road King has cast wheels, RKC has spoke wheels. And DEPENDING on the year, RKC has cruise, RK don't.

Road King Classic has Style.
Standard kings are, well, standard.
Get it?

I think cruise control is standard on classic, wide white wall tires and laced wheels

Hmm...Let's see..
The Classic: A bit lower, wire rims w/ white walls (tube tires), cool tank logo (imo), leather covered bags, seat w/leather trim, chrome accents with black motor, more "Old School looking"...Higher maintenance (imo). If you like Old School styling cues, and a pretty bike, the Classic is the way to go..

The Standard: Sits a bit higher, tubeless rims, lockable hard bags, more adaptable to modern customization cues, overall less to "worry" about...Hard bags and tubeless tires are a big plus while touring...nearly the perfect all around touring/cruiser...not as pretty as the classic though...

Depends on what you can live with vs. styling you can't live without...Ya know, owning a Harley is mostly about style anyway....
Good Luck, tough choice!

Default Road King Standerd

My 08 Road King has lace wheels and wide white walls, and all the extras when I bought it.
The only difference is mine has hard saddle bags and the gas tank emblem is a v harly davidson decal.
And I love it.
To me a lot nicer looking bike.

The Classic: a bit lower...
Unless they've changed it on the newer models, the Classic and standard RK's have the same suspension/ride height. They also both have the same motor treatment (black/chrome).
