The whole classic thing is BS. The leather bags belong on a soft tail not a tourer.

A road king has fibreglass bags. Full stop.

[quote=kwb377;5554210][quote]The Classic: a bit lower...

Unless they've changed it on the newer models, the Classic and standard RK's have the same suspension/ride height. They also both have the same motor treatment (black/chrome).
Exactly, they are the same bike with differnt wheels and bags on them.

Yeah, I don't think the classic is lower, same size. It's cosmetics.

The Classic does sit 1/2 inch lower according to the specs on the website probably due to the Standard having the 17" tire up front. The classic didn't get the new tire sizes that the other touring models have.The standards have a tad better lean angle because of this also. I think the hardbags suit today's (my) style better. I don't want to keep WWW clean or have the wire wheels adjusted. I would rather buy the 9 spokes some day. I couldn't justify the extra $1000 but I wanted the Standard from the beginning. I have cruise control and I love it.

I went with the rkc for the cruise control. Is it worth it,
yes it is. I dumped the spoked wheels for some cast wheels,
and I could not be happier.

As said, bags, rims, tires, cruise. IMO, I liked the looks of the classic better in the showroom, but after customizing for a bit, I'm wishing I had the hard bags. The cruise is a must-have. I've got the Ultra for trips so I don't mind the tubed wire wheels and, when they are clean, they look outstanding. WWWs also look great when they are clean. If I had it to do over again, the standard with the cruise added on at the shop would have been better for me. Don't get me wrong though, I LOVE my RKC, just sayin.....
