Default Oil Leak on Primary Side

Just got home from an extended weekend trip and noticed a small amount of oil on the garage floor, after inspecting it appears it's coming from the transmission side of the inner primary. My guess is the mainshaft bearing and lip seal is leaking. Any other areas the oil may be leaking from other than the previous mentioned?

I had the inner primary seal replaced this summer on my bike. When it was leaking, I could see the oil coming from what looked like the front drive belt pulley.

Same thing would happen to me after a long ride. Come home and next day I would find a dime size drip on the floor. I kept an eye on it and found I was losing about a qt in 2 weeks. Took it in and had all the seals on that side of the motor changed. $450.00 later no more drips and oil is right where it should be on the dip stick.

I have mine apart right now. it is the trans seal. you also have the inner primary gasket as well as the outer primary gasket & the drain plug seal. I have seen all of them leak.

Change out all the seals whilst you have it apart. If it happens to be the shifter shaft seal, try out a Cometic double lip one as it is better than the HD one, but if it's coming from the rear near the tranny, it's probably the main one like you said.

Cost me about $40.00 to have a MMI certified tech replace my gasket. My guess would be about $200.00 at an HD shop.

I had a small leak after 30,000 miles on my 06. My extended warranty covered the replacement of all the seals on that side.

Put a wrench on that drain plug if you haven't already.

You said 'tranny side of the inner primary'... I just did a baker dd6 gear set install and once completed I have a little seepage of tranny oil between the inner primary and the main drive pully. Originally I thought it was the primary cover drain plug leaking. Turns out I must have nicked the main drive pully lip seal with the main shaft end when installing the gear set. It sounds like that same seal is your culprit to me.
