Need help removing front fork (got right one out)

Looking at the pics,is that rust I see?

Is there something you can clamp on the fork tube that would help you rotate and push down at the same time?Beating the top with a hammer and insulator could still possibly distort the tube.

Do you know any machinist?
Since i'm a machinist,I would make a clamp out of aluminum bar stock.
The clamp would have the radius of the tube in one half at one end.The other half would have the same radius and then would bolt on to the other piece clamping the tube.
This would allow you to hold on to it and twist it down.

Hey guys, I appreciate all the help and advice. I just got it out. Beat the hell out of it. I'll have Harley look it over, but it looks fine. There was a lot of rust on the cap, so that was probably the culprit. No rust on the right one though.
