Took my bike in yesterday to the local Indy for my 5000 mile service(6280 actual miles)and found out that the front rotor is warped and the rear is slightly warped. Has anyone had this situation so early? Did/will HD warranty cover replacement of the rotors?

My dealer refused to cover my warped rotors on my 08 FLHX. Both fronts warped and were replaced at 4800 miles. I've heard others were warrantied, you will have to call your dealer and find out.

 

Warped rotors is something a lot of people are dealing with. I went through 2 sets on the front of my 08 street glide. I put some Hog Pro Lyndal floating rotors on mine and they are a lot better but still feel a slight pulse with light braking. The rotors have a lifetime warranty so hopefully if they get worse they will replace them. I think the Brembo brakes need to be perfectly centered to keep them from warping. I think the tolerances on the factory set up very too much causing the rotors to overheat on some bikes. Some are just centered better than others.

 

Warped front rotor on mine at 10,000 kms. Dealer is replacing under warranty.

 

06 RKC and I had my front rotors done just below 7k under warranty. I am now at 19k and am getting a bad pulse in the front again. I am going to have to replace the front again.

 

Warped fronts on my '09 FLTR. Dealer measured and said they are within tolerance. I asked if they test rode and said all checked out (I doubt anyone test rode since the measurement is the warranty test). Mine only measured off one-third of the minimum tolerance for warranty work. I'm shopping for new rotors (cheaper than fixing a scratched bike, considering that the pulsing occurs right before full stop).

Anyone have a reco for rotors for a 2009 touring w/ Brembos/ABS? I'm willing to pay for rotors that won't warp.

 

No issues, and a problem that is way over blown. Every vehicle that uses a dics brake will always have some sort of pulsation.
