RE: 2000 Road King motor shakes
All baggers shake at idle because they are rubber mounted as stated. It should smooth out just off idle. Front motor mounts are prone to wear out/fail. Look at motor mount from underside front of engine and look for cracks/wear. The mount on the motor and crossmember should not be touching. How your engine is tuned (cams) will also effect idle shake.

2ez,
You may have a broken motor mount(s). Normally, the front mount lasts about 3-4 years. Then, the rubber part would get brittled and rotted. It then, has to be replaced. When broke, it will shake violently at idle, and produce strong vibration between 60-70mph.
I would have it checked soon though.

Motor seems to shake excessively during idle. Is this normal for this bike? Was told it's due to the rubber mounted motor.
Replies greatly appreciated.
