Road King Front Brake Squeel
Well have been tacking this topic on the forum for awhile with lots of different answers.
Dropped my bike off last night at my dealer and told him in regards to the squeeling, "if this was your bike, you wouldnt be happy"
He told me that they have instructions to use the expandable foam method.
So there... I hope this is the right fix... I know some of you changed to floating rotors and aftermarket brake pads... but I feel that I shouldnt hve to pony up even more money for wha seems to me a across the board problem for Road King bodies.
I will report back, after I pick it up and crank my permagrin machine for a few miles

RE: Road King Front Brake Squeel
I haven't been tracking this problem on the forum but my son has an '05 Road King and his front brakes squeek also. He said the remedy he found was to use his air compressor to blow out the disc brake dust about once a week and the squeek goes away. I never had the problem on my Road Glide .. I changed to PM brakes shortly after I bought it in '03 and have been very happy with the setup. Good luck with the squeek .. hope that the dealer can come up with a fix for you.

Typed on my service form.
Removed front wheel, installed foam in behind rotor cavities. Squeeling is gone.
True, it fixed the problem... goes to show that it was a harmonic distortion. A vibration, not dirty or need to be cleaned... but an outright design flaw. I can see the foam not lasting indefinite... can I get a part number/description on the floating rotors?
Please and thank you.
Only took 6 weeks but I finally got my first leather jacket... I was so giddy, my wife compared it to women recieving jewelry... only I dont mind fufilling the reactionary requirement... hehe
