I hope going forward you check your oil more frequently than every 4500 miles! Then maybe your "files of crazy $hit" will get shorter. Anyway...thanks for the laugh!

I have read alot about oil problems BUT evaporation was never one of them....Good luck on finding the problem!!!!.. :-)

I don't think it burned that much oil. Like others say, check the oil before any trips and for sure when you get it back from service. If I had to guess I say you're leaking somewhere, oil cooler (if you have one) is a common source of leaking if the gasket is not seated correctly.

my 06 uses 1/4 QT and I change it myself at 3000 miles

You want something done right....do it yourself! And if you dont or can't...check the dipstick from time to time....

I've always found it a good idea to check the oil more than occasionally. That and the air pressure. Better safe then sorry!
