I put 1.75 Rush slipons on my 09 Ultra with no other mods and it actually helped with the heat and fuel mileage! To be fair I may have had a problem with the stock right muffler. The left one turned black inside as it should, but the right one did not and in fact started rusting on the inside. I've got one of the 48 state models without catalytic converters! Of course I got the usual "it's normal" from a HD factory rep at bike week. When I got home the Rush mufflers went on and the problems disappeared. I've got almost 10K on the bike now without another hickup of any sort from the running gears. Now that POS dumbflop D407 is another story! The MOCO took care of that POS at no cost to me.

You're Right! I don't know why that came from me? That was really un-characteristic of me... I should have invoked the Thumper rule....if you can't say somethin nice, don't say nothin at all..

 

I just installed the new 2010 HD Screamin Eagle Fatshotz slip ons on my 09 Classic Ultra and the sound and look is just what I wanted. A lot more deep throaty sound at idle and revving up and quiet enough cruising so I can still hear my tunes. I also just installed the Screamin Eagle stage 1 air filter and the bike runs great! Significant power increase and range of RPM. (She doesn't choke out anymore) ( I plan on installing a power commander soon, just to get a fine tune!) Screw it, lets ride!

 

I've got black balony cut Rush 2 inch on mine. It ran fine with just the slip on exchange, but that only lasted a couple of weeks. SE A/C and remap just had to be done. Couldn't be happier and it's really throaty riding behind but nice in the saddle.

Just like Dawg said. Just slip ons, put them on and go, nothing else needed. If you change out the air cleaner you will need to remap or run some type of fuel management.
