Talking Colormatching a fairing for my baby.... er....bike!

Folks,

I bought a Dead Center fairing from a member (thanks for a great deal, Brett!) it is painted white and I need it Red Hot Sunglo to match my bike, hopefully a painter can help me with these questions. I intend to paint the outer fairing Red Hot Sunglo and shoot the inner fairing with a light coat of Herculiner (yep, the pickup truck bed coating, it comes in colors) or cover it with leather.
For the outer fairing:

1. If I get PPG paint, what is the equivalent of the Red Hot Sunglo?
2. How much paint?
3. What else do I need? (clear, maybe?)

Thanks,

PPG red hot sunglo: Base: 922609/1; top coat: 922609/2. It's a tri-stage paint: color base; top coat; clear coat. The top coat is essentially a tinted clear.

These are the PPG paint codes my local PPg distributor got from the PPG software for HD red hot sunglo. When I was picking paint for my recent repaint, I considered the color, but decided to go with candy red pearl.

Can't help with quantities; you'll need a compatible reducer that's mixed 1:1 with the paint. I'm no painter; just repeating what the PPG distributor told me.

Good luck with your project.

to do the fairing, youll need a pint of basecoat, pint of 3stage basecoat (mid coat) and clearcoat. color, the least amount they sell is a pint... as far as clear, unless they have done some changes, you have to buy a gallon of clear and then hardener and reducer for the clear... also reducer for the basecoat products...

the clear is what will be pricey as all heck, actually the hardener...

in this case of just doing the fairing.... id say it would be cheaper to have a ppg shop paint it for you, give them the paint codes

Default Colormatching

Thanks, guys, good info. I am going to take it to a PPG shop, looks like this is the easiest way to do it.

Or just call Fat Baggers Inc, they paint that stuff all the time.
