hey man like others have said it is only money and you cannot take it with you, plus it is a small price to pay for safety and more comfort. I agree with Flyingace if I could get past the looks of the Road Glide, I would own one, and that isnt to bash owners of that bike, I have been told by every owner of one that they are the best HD out there, I just personally cant get past the looks of it! Look at it this way at least you on two wheels still, and you got smart before something tradgic happened, not being comfortable with the number of bikes and years you have on two wheels is a bad thing, and the money lost, is minor in the long run!
Enjoy your copper top!

Did you get a truly custom seat, built for you? A lot of the comfort of the ride depends on what you sit on. Even if you still do the deal, your ride will be much better on a sweet seat. Others have mentioned Corbin (the best and most expensive, imo), but you might be able to go local and just get the form shaved without much cost.

Good luck on it.

It's not unthinkable. It's what you feel is right for you. That's the *only* thing that matters. Enjoy the new old ride.

Could someone please explain the difference in the seating position with the new frame? I thought the new model was nothing but better. Now I'm a little concerned. I had planed on trading to a 2010 soon. I haven't ridden one yet. Is the front of the seat wider or what exactly?

Thanks,

Dave

The new touring models are taller & wider.
Firmer ride. Wait for the "Tour Glide"
Will it be a "Limited"?
Will it have the "Big Motor"?
I (LIKE) the idea of that 103" motor.
Uncork the poor thing so it can breath (Too bad no more carburetors)

after all the hoop la surrounding the new frame in 09, i felt sorta like my 08 was an antique. but i like my 08 sg. i've not ridden an 09, nor a 2010, and actually have little interest in either. unless it were an 09 road glide. but the old style frame, has stood the test of time. the new one has stood the test of simulated shaker machines etc. i'm sure they're great, but i'm old enough to know when enough is enough. you sure have a sweet looking 09 classic there monstermile, but i would not hesitate getting back in time as you put it. good luck with your new duracell roadie. cool indeed.
