I had Thunderheader slip-ons with Bubs True Duals for about 2 years. I loved the sound and the awesome performance .. although they were pretty loud but they have a distinctive sound of their own. After installing my S&S Gear Drive w/Andrews 37G cams they got even louder .. alas, I gave them up for a more mellow sounding set of V&H Basic Slip Ons and now everyone (including my wife) likes to ride around us again and I didn't lose anything in the performance department. I agree. Had 2-1 Thunderheader on my '98 Heritage, and have ran the slip-ons on both of my RKC's. Distintive, low rumble.... but they are LOUD.

I have not heard any pipe deeper than a Thunderheader. I will never have another pipe as long as Thuderheaders are around.

B&E Superflows, do a search on ebay, he uses stock pipes, new take-offs, sound great and perform as well if not better than the high dollar name brands, give them a look, mine are awesome!!

Wanted something DIFFERENT... HAd these SAMSON SIDE DISCHARGE on the '01 King before I changed them out to Rinehart TD's... So I put these back on the new '07 RG - Sound GREAT (low rumble & even better when you twist your wrist and at a cruiz they mello right out I can still hear my tunes and the wife doesn't need ear-plugs!!)

i am thinking to go back to the stock ecm.the thundermax is great but gas is only 28 MPG city 33 hwy and at 4.79 a gallon in CALIFORNIA is just to much.My question is\\;can i leave the D&amp\\;\\;D fatcat with quiet baffles and just replaced the thundermax and install the stock air box only?or will it run even leaner than stock?&nbsp\\;
