Keep your -07 RG. Take the "trade in money" and arrange a big party for your friends instead. It' a lot more fun....

I'm happy with my 08. There are not enough improvments in the 09s or the 10s to make me want to lose money on my bike and take out a loan.
Mine's paid for and it's running great.

You will love the '09, great handling, ride and more range. Also the 2010 bike is a dissapointment, so if you're thinking new, grab the '09.

If you were talking batwing I might say go for it. Big difference in handling from 08 and earlier to 09. But the RG is a great handling bike anyway. Even before the frame change. Can't see how the frame could have improved the handling of it that much. But I haven't rode an 09 RG so I may be wrong. Take one for a spin and see what you think.

Dont do it, tires suck, suspension sucks, TBW sucks, 6 gal tank...BIG DEAL, you have to stop every 50 miles anyway if you keep the stock seat, might as well add gas. Dont take the loss as I did. I have regreted it since about the thrid day I got it home. The only thing really gained on the 09 as opposed to my 05 that I truly like is the 6sp tranny. I too bought into the "its a completely different bike", guess it hasnt lived up to MY expectations. This is just my opinion, if I could I would trade my 09 back for my 05. Good luck, maybe I just had a really good 05???? oops, how dare I talk bad about an 09...LOL

I never rode an 07, but I bought an 09 in April of this year, and I love it. I agree with some of the previous threads concerning the 6-gallon tank. It's not that big a deal over the 5-gal. The ABS however is nice, and the electronic throttle vs. mechanical cables. Really cleans up the handlebars.

I would suggest a private party sale of your 07 in lieu of trade. You'll lose alot if you trade. They offered me $10K for my Fatboy, I sold it myself for $13.5K.

I say dont do it..I have an '07 FLTR (35k miles)I bought new..I took a test ride on an '09 FLTR...my biggest thought at the time was I'd rather have mine..not a great inprovement,in fact I like the way mine handles better..so again...I say dont take the loss..keep yours..

If you like the "old Style" FLTR get the 09 and plan on keeping it awhile. Because from here on out the Glides are going to be semi bar hoppers. As for the 6 gal tank, since most everyone else has a 5 gal, you'll have to stop when they do.

I'd upgrade the '07 for the '09, but I would not go for the 2010 new model.
