I've been reading and studying alot as I am about ready to get a new seat for my 09 Street GLide. Based on all the info I have gather from people (alot of different opinions) the majority leans toward either a Sundowner or a stock 09 road glide seat.
I still can't decide between the two. Whichever one I find at the best deal I will buy.

+1 for tall people. I hated it and sold it to my neighbor. I use the Tall Rider seat and it is great.

I am considering going out and getting one prior to the trip. Any advice/suggestions thanks...

I'm 5'8" and love the Sundowner. I've had two back surgeries and I was totally comfortable on our 2100 mile round trip to Sturgis this summer.

I use mine when I ride with the wife. It's not as comfortable as my C&C but it is much better than the stock seat. I done some long trips with it with the wife and neither of us have any complaints. I think I will get a backrest for the next long trip. It will be perfect then.

I have a Sundowner with a backrest and it works very well. We took a 3600 mile trip in June and it was much much better than the stock seat or the Electra Glide seat that I have.
