I took the locking tab off. took it to a machine shop, and had them make a duplicate with the square hole rotated 10 degrees. works the same as designed, but with the kick stand aimed just a little bit forward. eliminates the rolling effect.

On laced wheels; valve stem pokes straight toward the hub from the center of the rim. There is no left and no right.

OMG - who cares! After the first time, its very consistant and does exactly the same thing. Some roll as little as 0 some 4"+. But really - you spend money to fix - what?

My 03RK rolls - depending on grade - 3" to 5" - its just not a big deal.

There is a service bulletin on the newer bikes...http://www.box.net/services/ipaper_b...red/rexckaoutx

Perhaps this will help.

genedjr, I agree its no BIG deal. My original question was why does my 03 move so much and my 01 moves very little. I think for me it's a little more of a deal as I have both bikes and going from one to the other, it is more noticeable.

sure it works good. so do alot of orther things on the harleys. the stock air cleaner works well, so do the the mufflers, the cams, the hand grips, and the tires etc, etc, etc. we spend alot of money on these things making them better. isn't that half the fun, making yours just a little bit better than his, taking what is basicaly a good product and making it great. just my opinion. why settle, when you can make it right.

No one makes one because 90% of Harley riders know how it works, soon quit worrying about it, and wouldn't spend money to fix something that isn't broken.

Default question answered

With help from a friend, finally measured the width of the Jiffy Stand bracket slots on both bikes. My '03 measures 1/16 inch wider than that of my '01 which explains why so much movement on the '03. For a temporary fix, I put a shim on the forward inside which made it the same as the '01 and it is not noticeable. Will keep my eye out for a different bracket at swap meets, Ebay and etc. as the shim will work fine for a while.
