I learned all of this way back in 1985! ...... Still remember the sick sensation.

I don't know if it was on this forum or another, but there was someone that modified the locking tab on their jiffy stand (post came with pics as well) to avoid it moving forward. I believe the gist of it was that they changed the angle of the tab.

DAWG, that is what I was thinking of doing. Looks like I could just make a small tab that would close up the opening just a little to limit the amount of travel I get. I still wonder why the 01 has such little travel and the 03 so much.

Scares the Hell out of me also but it's a Harley. I try to never park on slopes or just leave it in gear.It helps me to pay more attention to the spring on the jiffy which can cause a whole new set of problems if it breaks.

If I find the post with pics I'll reference it, but for the life of me I can't find it. I've been trying all kinds of search words in the line of jiffy stand locking tab angle but still coming up empty. I'm pretty sure it was here on this forum that I saw it.

Since my SG is lowered I drag mine alot. I was told this could cause problems later on. Have you or should you, replace the tension spring?

Yes, I tried switching the spring too and still no change. I can't beleive someone hasn't marketed a new locking tab to limit the amount of travel in the open slot (how many harley's use this same jiffy stand system??=$$$$$).

Mine rolls forward at least 3 inches and I almost had a heart attack the first time it happened, now I just laugh when other people scream when it rolls! Seriously tho, it aint going anywhere. Just to test it I put the stand down while the bike was upright and I let it drop by itself and the stand locked in and did it's job.

I have an 04 Ultra and it does move about half an inch on the stand, and that does freak me out. My solution to it so far has been the put her in gear and don't worry bout it.
