I have the 2009 and Im glad I purchaed it and not the 2010. Here are the reasons:
1. I dont like the single exhause HD went to on the 2010
2. Dont like the no light on rear look at all.
They did however change the 5th gear whining.
Save the $2K and get the 2009. Unless your going for the new CVO Street Glide. In which case nothing to think about.

I have a 2009 SG and I have no 5th gear noise at all. I am using Redline fluids everywhere... Maybe, I am deaf from the loud exhaust...

The only thing that I like from the 2010's is the 18" front wheel, and that's marginal... I think the 2010 rear fender looks weird without the brake light and I consider it a safety issue. Also, I do not like the 2-1 exhaust. A bagger is not a race bike so I do not care for a couple more hp/tq, not that I can tell the difference. That's my opinion...

Get the bike that feels right for you. You'll love the SG. I moved up from a FatBoy and never looked back.

Just bought an 09 last week, they are selling fast in NJ...I paid $18,000 for the bike that had a $21,900 price tag. I was also told not many changes between the 09 n 10. The depreciation doesnt bother me cause im not paying the dealer the premium of owning a 2010......If the 09 is available and it has what u want, go 4 it

5th gear whine menas a straight cut gear, which is stronger.

Get the best deal, and go with that.

The bike is only new until it leaves the lot anyway.

Thanks for all your replies, guys!

Now, being new to Harley, I am kind of suprised to see that the Street Glide and the EGC are the exact same price, but that the EGC also includes a top case, rear crash bars, passenger floor boards and what seems to be a more comfortable seat (at least for the passenger).

Is it just me or given the fact that many Street Glide buyers will change the shocks and upgrade the seat for more clearance and comfort, I should buy the EGC and simply add the kit to easily dismount the top case and get the best of both world?

I mean, besides the look of the SG being a little more aggressive and given the extra stuff that comes on the EGC, is there anything else that would justify paying more for the SG, which ''seems'' to offer less?

: )

If you have a choice between any of the 09's your looking at, be it SG or EG Classic, all things equal pick the one with the new D408 front tire. Earlier 09's had the D407.
