Default Route 50 West Virginia

Next week I'm taking off from Baltimore to visit my sister in Tulsa. I'd like to avoid the super-slab as much as possible. It's about 525 mile from Baltimore to Cincinnati and I'd like to know if it possible to do that in one day if I'm riding Route 50 through West Virginia? Is it just too hilly to make good time on?
Thanks!

I've ridden Rt 50 several times through there. One time I did 801 miles in one day from western Illinois to Virginia so I know 525 miles should be okay. Only you know how you ride though. Rt 50 really is beautiful out there though and I would for sure recommend it over the Interstate anytime. Good luck and enjoy your trip. Ride safe.

I rode it about a week ago, left Manassas Va at 5:00 AM stopped west of Indianapolis IN at 5:30 PM. There are allot of 20 MPH curves and 9% grades but a great road. Watch out for the logging trucks got behind one for about 4 miles down hill no where to pass 10 MPH was all he would go.

I rode it a couple of years ago. From the VA state line to Grafton it is hilly and a OK road. From Grafton to Parkerburg the road is fantatic. You can see what Sen Byrd did with all the money he sent to WV over the years... Made a great road and named after himself. I live 18 miles from US 50 and ride it all the time in southern Indiana it is a good road.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'm really looking forward to my trip. This will be the first long trip I'll be taking with my Road Glide. In addition to seeing all the beautiful sites along Rt. 50 in West Virginia, I'll also get to see a lot of Kentucky, and Arkansas. It's about a 1300 mile trip from Baltimore to Tulsa and I hope to enjoy every one of those miles.
Coming back to Baltimore I may have to super-slab it for a lot of the miles just because of time restraints.

I've done rt 50 through WV several times. Great ride. I've done DC to Milwaukee, 832 miles, in a very long day. Have a great ride.

You know, I live in West Virginia. Just moved here form Texas about 4 years ago. It is the most beautiful place I have ever ridden. But, you know something else, I have never been down rte 50.

Take rain gear. It rains every time I ride thru WV. Every time. Rt 50 is a great road for riding but whatever distance you travel on it is going to feel like double what you could have done on the freeway.
