Default Adding Fairing Lowers

Thinking of adding fairing lowers to my SG. For you guys that have them do you ever take them off in the summer or do you leave them on all the time? Is the detachable hardware a waste of money? Do you notice any change in oil temps with them on?

I've never taken mine off ecexpt for to do work on down over in the front area. I like having the protection from getting nailed by rocks or a big bug.

I leave them on year round. This summer however, I did remove the vents. That lets a lot more air through for my right leg and motor..........and I live in Texas, so all summer it's been 98 to 103 since the first of June. Cold front coming through today, only suppose to 89.

Word on warning: "removing the vents does let all the rain come through too". I got caught in rain Saturday. LOL

Leave 'em on all the time. Put the feet out on the highway pegs and the heat isn't a problem at all. Protection from flying debris is great an in the rain your feet stay perfectly dry.

The detachable kit is a waste of money.

Leave them on my Ultra all the time. Open the vents and go. Plus I think they look AWESOME on the SGs!

09 Ultra here. Quick detachable kit is awesome. Lowers go on and off in a matter of minutes.

I take my lowers completely off during the summer. I don't like my legs or the Engine's Top End baking all summer. Can't be good for it.
