Thanks guys, I needed all that to lean me in the right direction. Want the bike, but not the smartest move. The sporty is ok, I like it, but I've outgrown it very quickly. I think I'm going to see what I could get approved for a mortgage and start looking for a nice little starter home.......with a nice garage and a stove so kooter can bring groceries over and cook them on my stove........in theory that is.

Who needs a house when you have a bike? Shack up with some ol gal until you can afford a shack of your own. You'll save money and ride. Its a win - win.

You should have made this a "Poll".

Buy the house, pay it off.

Buy a bike from Craigs list with cash it will be paid off.

Keep your bills paid off and invest the rest.

DOn't get married, and have kids then you will never pay off either unless your into total minimialization. Then you won't get the bike it will be a VW bus or a Volvo.

Most everyone I know who is married with kids is miserable.......A wise man once told me "First comes the engagement ring, then the wedding ring, then comes the suffering." Some more food for thought.

Buy a big house and you can invite us all over. With all those bikes, your neighbors will come to really appreciate you !!

Paying rent or making a mortgage payment, either way you are buying the house
Interest on mortgage payments is deductible, rent is not.
Property tax is deductible.
House appreciate.
Bike depreciate.

Buying toys comes after you get the necessities out of the way.

Get the house, build up some equity, then use your equity to buy a new HD. This way all the interest is tax deductible.
