Foot Pegs

RE: Foot Pegs
If you've put the long or short arms on you'll be able to follow this, I hope ;-)
You can slide the arms up or down the engine crash guard just so far until you get too close to the bend nearer to the bottom of the engine guard, true of both long and short arms.
You can only rotate the arms on the engine guard so far out and still have the footpegs at a usable angle. The best positions to allow the footpegs themselves to flip up or down (lock against arm when down) and be usable at a comfortable angle is with the arms flowing toward the back of the bike and with the arms level with the ground (somewhat level anyway).
If you follow this so far, my problem with a 30" inseam was that the long arms just came in way too much forcing my knees to bend too much. If I raised the long arms higher my shorter leggs just didn't fit comforable on the angle of the footpegs when locked down.
Once I put the short arms on, I can put the arms straight back level with the ground so the footpegs lock down correctly and the angle of the footpegs is very comfortable. I can now rest my foot on the footpegs perfectly.
Any shorter riders know what I'm trying to explain?

RE: Foot Pegs
Check out: eglidegoodies.com They've got a pretty good selection.
I put the 7986 Longhorn Offset Peg Mounts with 1-1/4" Clamps on mine.
According to the website: "They're a great pair of mounts for the Electra Glide Classic or Standard, Road Kings and the Road Glides, bikes without fairing lowers. The stylish new peg mount provides 360 degrees adjustability so it can be used to position the peg closer to the rider or further away. It's 3-1/4" arm gives an incredible 6-1/2" range of adjustment. Incorporating an innovative locking device this mount is guaranteed not to slip."
I couldn't be happier with them. They're comfortable, adjustable, and I can't get them to slip at all. The cost was $109
