RE: TomTom Rider or Quest II GPS?
I have Quest II and it does the job for me! I considered Tomtom but quickly dismissed it! Not because it's a bad unit, but because the Quest II does what I needed better. Quest II has a built in 20 hour battery, is waterproof, mounts to the fairing vis HD bracket (wiring is integrated w/external plug into Aux raido jack) and I can read it at spped (80-85). Also, have HD POI's downloaded.

Check out the Garmin 378C. http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsmap378/
We were at a fuel stop on our way back form riding in Hot Springs a couple weeks ago and got to talking to a GoldWing rider & checking out his gadgets. He had a Garmin 376C, which is color, full function GPS, BUT he should us how it ALSO had weather info (forcasts, RADAR, etc.) and also was an XM receiver. The screen was more than adequate size for easy visibility and navigation.
The newer 378C has enough integrated storage to hold detailed maps of the entire US and also has over 6Million locations (gas station, restaurant, hotel/motel, etc.) info inluding address & phone # info.
This is one SWEET unit!

This web site forum, GPS Passion, is one of the best GPS forums for disucssing gps units that I have seen on the web. If you do some searches on "motorycle" there are some guys on that forum who have some great experience to share with various set-ups

I had a tomtom 700 for a week. All the tomtoms use the same software. Well it sucked so bad I returned it. Took me in circles and would rout me off an expressway just to rout me back on. Now I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and it work awesome!!! Same thing goes with garmin, they all use the same routing algorithm. I HIGHLY recommend any garmin!!!
Here is mine mounted using a ram mount... I changed the splash screen

Bought a Garmin 2720 a couple of months ago and am very satisfied. Picked Garmin because I am a boater and very familiar with their marine gps and it too performs great. The 2720 has all the bells and whistles you need, is waterproof, good size viewing screen, and mounts easily on your bars via chrome ram mount system. You can also dismount and use in your cage in no time. Downloads are also easy to access. Prices have come down so shop around and you should be able to get this one for around $700. Buy the motorcycle cradle and wiring harness from Garmin (around $50) and RAM chrome mounts for alot of flexibility and you should be good to go.
