I would definetly look at the 276/376/378 series. Under the marine section. Much better screen, only draw back is the built in maps are not detailed enough and need supplement with a mem card and some detailed maps(read more money).

276 basic
376 276 with XM and weather
378 376 with auto turn by turn maps built in (no need for mem and upgraded maps)

Of course, more money as you step up. I am going with the 276..already have XM and no real need for WX. It also comes with a marine mount, which can be mounted in the windshield. Here is how a Winger did it. Easily removable to avoid theft.

I had a tomtom 700 for a week. All the tomtoms use the same software. Well it sucked so bad I returned it. Took me in circles and would rout me off an expressway just to rout me back on. Now I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and it work awesome!!! Same thing goes with garmin, they all use the same routing algorithm. I HIGHLY recommend any garmin!!!

Here is mine mounted using a ram mount... I changed the splash screen

I looked at the Nuvi also, but it's not waterproof, have a baggie handy.
Yep I know... I just stick it my pocket when it rains. and head for an underpass... Weather almost killed me once that was enough...

I wanted a sleek gps unit for my road king handlebars.... i went w/ the garmin quest II and the handlebar mount instead of the ram mount. I love this unit. Great small detailed screen, great battery life, great features such as closest resterants, gas stations, lodging, etc.... small and waterproof.

Expensive but i would buy it again in a heartbeat. And its nice to use in the car and fits in your small pocket.
