Default Roady 2 Mount

I'm having trouble finding a Roady 2 mount that does not attach to the handlebars. I'm not sold on this type of mount, not against it either, but want to shop. I found the windshield mount for the SkyFi2 at J & M Motorcycle audio page, but they don't have one for the Roady 2...

Anyone seen anything or have any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Mac

Bill mounted his directly to the inner fairing using the supplied detachable mount and double sided tape, IIRC. Looked good too. Maybe he'll pop in with a pic.

Here's the pic you're talking about, I believe...

Every time I look at his bike I drool, it gives me something to shoot for

I really like the looks of the J&M mount on the windshield. I just got off the phone with them and they don't make anything for the Roady 2. Their explanation was that due to the FM Modulator, you didn't have to use the AUX input on the radio, and you can use the antenna interrupt...there was no need to hide any wires. I disagree, if you use one of the adapters to get a power source to it, (not using the cigarette lighter) you do...

I'm thinking about getting the three pouch kit and putting it on the bike, drilling a hole in the back of the center pouch and running the wires that way...

That was my plan too. But, I'm forever changing the channel and that would just irritate me. That's why I opted to the route Markuda went... with the RAM mount on the handlebar. Bill's setup looks good but for some reason I was leary of it. Not something I can explain. I've learned to trust my instincts so that's another reason for the handlebar mount.

As far as Bill's ride? Beautiful!!! I look at his bike often. I LOVE the color and what he's done to it. Fairing mount mirrors are my next mod. (once I get over the price tag of the SERT, SE slip-ons and stage 1, that it) [&:]

Mike,

They are under the seat, right next to the slide out 20" DVD screen. LOL.

For anyone that is planning to make a direct connect without using the cigarette lighter plug in, keep in mind that the voltage to the Roady II is 6 volt. If you make a direct connect, you will be running 12 volts into something that requires 6 volts. The cigarette lighter plug-in is an FM modulator, and also reduces the voltage.

I just remembered this when I saw the close-up of Markuda's Roady II, that plainly states 6V on the power input.

Regards,

Bill
