I just bought a adjustable Custom Stitch Style Rider backrest model # 52622-03 this is the one that has the gas shock on it that you can adjust by a cable, It was never used but the instructions are gone. That is no problem as I can figure it out pretty easy, but I'm stumped as to where you put the bracket that holds the handle that controls the gas shock on my 05 Road Glide. I can't find any place that would be easy to get to, am I missing something [:@] Where do you other Road Glide riders mount yours? HELP I'm STUCK on this [sm=boohoo.gif] If any one has a copy of the instructions you could scan and e-mail me my address is gilbos440rt@bellsouth.net

It mounts on the frame under the seat on the left hand side. I have an 05 RG and can send you pix of it tomorrow if you still need them.

Arg!!! I looked high and low for those instrutions no luck,[:@] look on the left side off your bike on the frame under your seat on the big backbone part of the frame you'll see a hole, thats where the oval adjustment handle bolts, your seat will have to come off and it a bugger to get the bolt in there if your hands are big but not to bad I bent the metal part the cushion goes on some to give me a little more backward adj. If I run acros the inst. I shoot them out to you. But just slide your adj. handle were I told you the hole is and you should see what I'm telling you, Once I saw it I felt a little dumb but thats me Hope this helped some and you're gonna love your back rest

 

That was a quick reply...thanks! I have the instructions, just cant see the photos clearly. HD does a nice job of being vague about these thing I guess. Im assuming the tab on that bracket fits into the large hole to hold it in place too huh? If anyone can shoot a couple phots and post that would be awesome.

I tried to ride without the back rest once, never again. It is always on the bike. It just makes riding more fun.
