Default Rineharts have me in trouble

The suburbs suck!!!!!!!!!!!.

I have an 08 Ultra with Rinehart true duals. I have now received my 3rd ticket for noise violations and quite frankly, my neighbours are about ready to shoot at me. As well, the cops have instructed me that they will nail me every time they see me until I quiet them down. As much as I would like to say F*&(*K them, and end up back in front of a judge, I would rather be riding my bike than punching out some whiney SOB (dont get me started on how the dogs on my street make more noise than anything I do)

I must admit after a whole day riding the sound can get a little tiring. It may be the pipes or the stereo (I have spent over $700 upgrading my sound system). I drove my buddy's Ultra with the V&H monster oval slip ons and the sound was pretty good.

Been searching the threads on here and it seems like there is limited success with changing the baffles on the Rineharts. I also know that the 2" pipes on the Rineharts limit the selection of slip on alternatives.

2 questions:

- Are there any slip ons out there that fit the Rinehart headpipes and reduce the noise?

- Has anyone found a way to really quiet down the Rineharts

Failing that, I guess I will put the stock headpipes back on and look to find a slip on solution. It may mean I take a performance hit AND I will be selling the Rineharts (5000 miles on them)

Has anyone got a solution I havent thought of

Thanks

How much are they hitting you for each ticket? Are they increasing the amount each time?

Before you change out your exhaust system, give Big City Thunder Thunder a call, or send Jim an email at www.bigcitythunder.com They have quiet baffles that will quiet the bark a bit and increase the deep rumble.

What is the noise level that you are exceeding? I have RTD's and they seem to be fine provided I'm not running high rpms, whacking the throttle, etc. in my or my riding buddies' neighborhoods.

You could remove the mufflers, knock out the baffles, have the baffles wrapped with fiberglass from a muffler shop, and reinstall the baffles to quiet the pipes. I removed the baffles from my RTD mufflers (a PITA job and dirty) thinking I'd do this, but just reinstalled them, albeit much cleaner after washing them.

Hope you find a solution.

Default RUSH has a set of slipons that fir the 2" headers

I tried the Rinehart Quiet Baffels and it was not a whole lot quieter and sounded like a 750cc
Honda.
I finally got a set of RUSH slipons with the 2" baffle and you can get down to a 1.50" baffle
They sound and look great and the Rinehart endcaps fit on them. They are made for 2" header pipes. Mine bolted right on perfectly. They are much more mellow but you do not lose the HD sound.

Does Canada have stricter noise limit law, or just your area? Curious.

What you should do before changing anything is fight those tickets.First, what noise device do they have at the time your bike was going down the street that showed it was over specified limit? The officer who wrote the ticket must show that noise level to be over the limit he can't go by what he thinks and he must have an electronic device to prove that at the time of the incident. Also if in fact he does have a device that when the ticket was written you can ask in court when was the last time the device was calibrated to be working properly and if in fact lets say it was last checked to be functioning properly was a year ago then you also have a strong case to question if it was working properly at the time of the incident. So you do have some things on your side so i would take it to court first each and evryone of those tickets and raise those things in court as i mentioned.
