I would try easing off the throttle until you're out of the neighbourhood. You don't want to be "that" neighbour that everyone hates.

I have stock headpipes with my Jackpots and, while they're probably not as loud as yours, they do crack pretty good when I twist the right hand. My wife told me that I was waking her up every morning as I took off down our street, so now I just ease on down the road until I'm on the main drag.

Good luck, and ride safe (and quiet )

You can beat these tickets in court. The officer did not have a device in hand, look that is like a officer giving you a ticket for speeding when he see's you coming up the street and he is outside of his patrol car standing at he corner as you approach him.If he writes you a ticket for such an example take it to court and make him prove it that you were speeding, what device did he use if he didn't have any at the time and he wrote it based upon his own objective they will dismiss the ticket, just like they would in your case with this DB noise in the neighborhood.

RUSH makes a series of slip-on mufflers that will fit right on to your 2 inch Rinehart headpipes. They have 5 different baffle options from 1.5 up to 2.5 in. You can see them at rushracingproducts.com but I'd buy them from Fuel Moto. I believe you can also have FM wrap the baffles with their Silent Sport material. I'd call Jamie or Kieth and discuss your options with them.

The good news is that people love those Rineharts so you should be able to sell them fairly easily here in the classifieds and not have to add much at all to get the RUSH.. Just remember to clarify that they are 2 inch when you sell.

Good Luck.

I passs them all the time at the toll booth and at radar hiding spots. Drive like you have an attitude and you will attract attention. Drive with a bit of finesse and you will be fine...My 110 barks louder at full throttle than my other bike that has 2" open drags..Just sayin..
I agree. I have Rinehart TD's and live in an area with strict noise ordinances. Never had a problem. Now if I goose it leaving the neightborhood or downtown, I am certain I would get in trouble. Back 'er down in residential areas and other problem spots and I can't imagine how you would have any problems. Just my two cents.

Sounds like you have a LEO with nothing better to do in the hood. I would contest them in court.

+1. Big City Thunder slip-in baffles. Will even bring straight pipes to an acceptable level. I swear they do. Got one in each of these gutted factory pipes and it's too quiet.

Man if I had a buck for everytime someone jumps up and says they cant write you for loud pipes without a meter bla bla bla, Id be one rich ****. Do you think the cop gives a rats *** if you go and fight it? Im sure the neighbors are starting to complain so he has to do his job. And He will do it again and again just to make your life miserable until you give up and conform.
No matter how many times you go to court and fight it even if you win you are still the loser, 3 tix at $110 a piece would just about bought some new pipes and your problems are solved. He gets paid to go to court, you more than likely do not. And Harleys are notorious for excessive noise at the hands of the riders. The judge knows this too, so Im afraid your a marked man now. But to each his own.
