Default Short Riders / FLHT Handle Bar selection / Video / Flanders pull back and Corbin

OK people, I have been on this forum now for almost 4 years - I have been one of the many posters who have gone in search of the perfect set of handle bars.

Iam 5'6" age 59 - short arms (27"- from arm pit to finger tip).

I have gone to Corbin and had a Seat made for MY *** and just this week went back and had the Back Rest made and fit to MY back.

I have tried Stock bars on my EG then went to Wild1 575 and liked them but the width of 35" was just a little to wide for me..

Found a member here that turned me onto Flanders

http://www.sideroadcycles.com/Americ...lassic2-2.html

I did a post here about these.. I had mine powder coated black for someting different.

I have had several PM's asking several different questions, so I decided I would try a Video showing how I can now FINALLY just sit back INTO the seat and have a very easy/natural reach to the bars.

Keep in mind - my wife is NOT "Steven Spielberg" and I am NOT "Mel Gibson" lol...

However, this short clip will show the Corbin and how it was made for a short rider and the back rest and how I am able to sit back and the easy reach to the Flanders

Bike is on the center stand sold here on the forum..

Ultra ClassicŪ Style Narrow Handlebars -
That are 2" Taller and plus 2" more Pullback:

Measurements Height: 9.5"
Pullback: 15.5"
Center: 11.5"
Width: 31"

any questions,,, You know how to use the PM

Video is only 28 seconds

Had a comment - arms at full lock?? NO, my arms are NOT locked at elbow - very comfortable slight bend.

I too have these very same bars and am in love with them. I am also 5'6" and have an average reach for my height. I had my seat done by Mac's Custom Upholstery here in Seattle. I had them lower me 1 inch and move me forward 1 inch and I feel like the bike has been custom tailored to me.

Yours was the post that directed me to Flanders.. Only problem I had with them was, the hole for the internal wires was way too small...

Now the wife has to get used to the back rest in front of her...

I thought my post a while back may have been the impetus for your going with these bars. For everyone else the part # is Flanders 650-08725. And I did have to do a bit of work on the bars for the TBW.

Great info - thanks for posting. Any idea how much forward the seat put you compared to stock?

I'm happy with my reach seat but would change bars if those will come further back than my wild one bagger bars.

Default just got my reach figured

I have stock bars and was getting a "pain in the neck" after an hour ride. I couldn't stomach the appx. $650 new bars install. I adjusted my backrest seat about an inch forward and took a 500 mile trip last weekend. Problem solved. oops forgot to note that I changed my FLTR seat for an ULTRA - which makes a Big difference in butt tolerance.....
