Default Arc Amp question

I have read here that an optimum way of connecting the power is to run the power inside the wiring harness under the tank. Since i am painting i will run it that way, but my question is how does it power up? If it is connected directly to the battery, does it power up with the radio and/or ignition?

I came directly off the batt with the power wire with an inline fuse. Also fused the ground side. There's a "turn on "circuit that you hook to a switched circuit that actually turns the amp on.No batt. drain unless the ign. sw is on.

You will see a port right between the "Power" and "Ground" port on one end of the amp that says "Remote". Take a small wire from there to either the cigarette lighter socket, or to the little plug about 6" up from the headlight plug. Make sure either one is the side that gets power from the ignition by using a test light or a volt meter. This powers-up the amp when you turn the switch on. Good luck!

It's not imperative that you fuse the ground but expensive electronic equip. pulling as much current as the amp does its a good idea.I think it's reccomended in the inst.
