EVO vs. Shovel Tour Glide

RE: EVO vs. Shovel Tour Glide
My old shovelhead Tour Glide was velvet smooth at 80 mph on the freeway. An evo will be even better. You will not get the hand-numbing vibes you feel on your Vulcan unless something is wrong with the engine mounts (or worse).
You will love your Tour Glide!!

RE: EVO vs. Shovel Tour Glide
The EVO has got my vote, Its hard to beat a good old evo motor. There are soooo many of them around with well over 100,000 miles. I sometimes wish Harley still offered the Evo as an option on the new bikes, I love my twin cam, dont get me wrong, but there are some issues in the T.C.88 that I feel shouldnt be there with today technology, The evo proved itself years ago and lives fondly in the heart of many riders.

RE: EVO vs. Shovel Tour Glide
I've been involved in Software long enough to know that the latest isn't always the greatest. "Better" is sometimes a subjective conclusion.
I believe, though not yet through experience, that the EVO engine is one of the best and most widely supported motorcycle internal gas combustion engines in the entire world. It meets my needs.
I'll be commuting daily and also hauling some bigger trips on this bike and nothing's gonna stop me!

Mike,
A shovel requires a lot of TLC and wrenching, and you might have to search for a lot of the parts you need. I would be much more comfortable with a good used EVO. For touring you will probably find that you have more reliability, more power, and a better all around ride.
Just an opinion.
I love the old bikes, and am really greatful that there are people out there that have the desire and the ability to keep them on the road, I'm just not one of those guys. The only way I would have an old bike is as a second ride, and not as one I depended on for trips.
Regards,
Bill
