Police Electra Glide vs Roadglide
I'm looking at a 2007 Road Glide and a 2007 Police Electra Glide. Both have about 11,000 miles. The biggest difference is that the Police bike has a 103 and the Road Glide has a 96 the other difference is the Road Glide has a radio and CD player where the Police bike doesn't. I think the Police bike has a few more things lie the air seat and the hockey puck openers and oil cooler. I test drove the RG and it was nice. Any opinions on this one?
Thanks

My dad has police road king with the 103 and he recently test drove a '09 RG he said he actualy felt a difference in power, the police bike felt faster, his bike dynoed 69whp 74wtq stock. I think the main reason his felt better wasnt so much the 103 but the heavy duty clutch. That clutch is sick when mine goes out im going to have that one put in.
but with that said I would sill take the RG over the EG, be careful if the police bike was in sevice i would not get it! Police RIDE HARD.
But like others have said its your bike, pick what sticks out to you the most and whats in your buget.

I bought a 07 Police FLHT. This bike was in service for 15000 miles and had the bumps to show for it. The cop bikes here get serviced every 2500 miles for severe duty (10,000 mile service). For the price I couldn't beat it. I but about a grand into it, new front crash bar, 2 up seat, backrest and tour pak quick connect mounds, PCV, air filter and some slip-ons. I have since then put over 8000 miles on the bike including a trip to Sturgis (4500+ miles) and have had no problems. It was the fastest bike out of the group and handeled like a dream. I would do the deal again in a heart beat. With that said, the interconnect harness is different, so if the radio is important to you, you need to either change the harness or go with a aftermarket set up. Same goes for Cruise Control, changes needed do to different switches.
If both bikes are the same price go for the one you like best

Price-wise, the police EG should be at least $1500 below the price of the RG. A new police EG would be roughly $2K less than an EG Standard. Change the interconnect harness on the EG and the handlebar switches, and you'd have the same electrical as a civilian EG which is important if you want to add cruise control, have handlebar controls of the headunit, add oil pressure gauge, etc.
If they're the same price, I'd go for the RG since the 103" v. 96" isn't significant for me assuming you like both bikes.

I agree with Carls post above. The standard HD103 upgrade can be done (even a little better) if you have stock 96" jugs bored to match a set of 103 pistons.
If you're moderately mechaically inclined, it a snap to install & cost is nominal.
Bore Jugs: $150 +/-
S/E pistons: $120 (or less) online
Gasket set: $70 online
One afternoon of your time: Priceless
Get the RG!
