Color matched inner fairing--pics lets see 'em
#24
C'mon man; all these guys (me included) post pics and you don't?--that's not right. So put a couple of pics up of your bike. Frankly, I'm curious to see the colors since I don't recall seeing one like it, and I get to see a lot of new bikes since my local dealer moves a lot of new bikes, and always gets plenty of CVO and custom color bikes.
Incidentally, if your painter has the PPG computer software he can look-up the mixing formula for the color(s) you need; or a local PPG distributor can do the same, mix the paint for you, and let your painter shoot the tri-stage paint. Frankly, when I did my paint project recently, I got to spend a fair amount of time with my local PPG distributor and had him copy several of the sunglo formulae and they include a tinted top coat that includes a pearl solid PPG calls "emberglo." I used that top coat over my HOK candy apple red. Don't see how your painter will replicate the emberglo pearl as a base coat, so take plenty of good pics when you have it done.

Incidentally, I told my painter that it doesn't have to be a perfect match. But he swears he can match it with base/clear. We'll see. As long as it's passable close i won't complain with a price of $125-$150.
Thanks again guys for all the pics, and especially the pic of the one in my color--looks Great!

Finally got the inner replaced-pics attached.
Copperhead Pearl-or close to it. Painted by local body shop. They a pic with the paint camera that then spits out a mixing formula, mixed the paint, then custom tinted it toi get as close a match as possible with base/clear, without spending the big bucks for the Harley tri-stage pearl. It's really close in color. It just doesn't have the faint green pearl that shows under the streetlights, but it does have the Gold pearl. I'm happy with it considering $150 versus $500 for the Harley pre-painted.
Inner was replaced under warranty because of slight fading along the top aboive the speakers.
I can't say enough positives about by dealer. They didn't give me any static at all. They looked at it and said "we'll get you one ordered". Then they allowed me to take it and get it painted when it arrived so I could have them replace it with no labor charge.
They upraded my master cylinder cap to a chrome one at no charge because the original black one had a slight paint peel where brake fluid contacted it presumably at the factory. And they found and fixed my hard start problem immediatly (see other thread).
Installed my air cleaner cover I bought from them at no charge, and washed my bike for me when it was all done!
Legacy Harley Davidson in Effingham, IL
Not associated with them in any way-just trying to be fair
If they screwed me, you can bet I'd post that! So praise where praise is due---
