Default Help on S&S carb

My "new" '89 evo has had an S&S carb put on at some time. I'm not digging the lack of idle. Can't get it to idle at a decent rpm. Should I go with a Cv carb, or get the S&S gone through? Also if anyone knows a good mechanic in the South Jersey area, please let me know.
Thanks.

If you are not a carb tuner, good luck finding someone, who can help you.S&S carbs are easy to dail in provided you understand what each circuit does, and work each one separately. To really fine tune them may even require that a jet be drilled.Your carb has an idle mixture screw (regulates the air mix) turn in (to the left) richer,(to the right) leaner. Also have an idle speed screw(where the throttle cables go) Turn to left to increase idle speed, right to decrease.
