I've ridden a couple of softails including a Heritage and I don't care for the "B" motor.
+1 on that. The Softail range has no heart IMHO once they introduced the balanced motor back in '99. Don't flame me, I held onto my '99 TCB Heritage for 5 years and it comes nowhere close to the rubber glides for that ole Harley feel.
own both no bottoming on my part almost always 2 up, I have toured on the Heritage and had a blast. However I would not take it on a long haul, I would hop on the Ultra.
Different strokes for different folks make the right choice and stiock with it.
Electra Glide Standard is the way to go. But then you are asking that question in the Touring section so we might be a little biased .
I had the 09 heritage for a month...i did like it with one person..two up we would feel the bumps, etc. we would max out and drag the floor boards. too an ultra for test ride, Cadillac... we saw the 09 egs in denim black...awesome the dealer made it right and the egs has been perfect. my wife loves the bike a lot more.....
Do the 96B motors have more vibration, not sure I really noticed with test ride, but I did not go that far.......I have 2009 Dyna super glide now, do not notice much vibration when riding.
