Monstermile,

There is a place called Mooses 4X4 in Hartford Wisconsin that has a kit for the 09 that lowers the seat area of the bike. I am not sure what it costs but consist of a replacement bolt on rear sub frame and plastic side panels. From what I understand the kit requires the battery to be turned around also. Bottom line, it relocated the bottom of the seat pan lowering the seating position into the frame and not changing anything with the suspension.

Worth a call to get the details.

Are they making a new kit, or are they selling the FBI (Fatbagger) kit?

My recommendation for the OP? Get boots with higher heels and iif you have the bucks, invest in a reverse gear. If you do try to lower the bike, invest in high quality suspension such as Ohlins to keep the ride quality and handling from deteriorating too much.

I would keep the 09. I am also vertically challenged at 5'5" tall and a 28" inseam. I had my bike lowered 1.5 inches and have not experienced any problems with scrapping. I ride two-up 90 percent of the time. I also had my seat modified by meancity cycles.

Jerry,
You are correct, it is the Fatbaggers kit. Lowers the seat 3" but pretty expensive and doesn't look to comfortable for the passenger.

What I did notice today is my buddy has an 08 Electra Glide Classic and I have a 09 and the seat pan on his is different in that it is about 1"+ lower to the frame than mine. His fits on my bike and sits lower to the ground. I will be looking for an 08 stock seat.

I actually just put SG shocks on my Coppertop and I could not be happier with the ride and the height, but there is no way I would go down in years on the bikes. You have the better frame and all the bells and whistles of the UGC. I would put air ride on use the best seat and start touring.

when i got my 09 street pumped i never even noticed i was damn near tip toeing. after getting home i though man what have i done, so calmed down and got on the forums here, asked some questions , got some good info from the folks on here. wound up haveing mean city redo my seat got me around a inch, then i went 1.5 with lowering blocks and up to 35 on air in shocks. solo im great, 2 up alittle rough but not real bad, ive rode some bikes rougher 2 up. bottom line is ride it like im on fire, and it handles great for me, im only 5/4 so if i can do it im sure you can.
