How low would you need to go? If its an inch or so, get some Progressive shocks that are an inch shorter and they will give you a better ride than the stock SG shocks. Plus they are easier to adjust the preload on with just turning them as opposed to using an air pump. One less thing to pack.

I would look into the fatbaggers dropseat conversion before going back to the 08 or reducing the suspension travel it that is important to you.

Actually no. And I don't want to either. She is still purdy as the day I brought her home.

sonar_chris: I need a good inch to inch and a half (yeah that is what she said) to get me flat footed in all conditions with any kind of boots.

rsavage: Thanks for the feedback on that. Seems like you are one of the few that doesn't mind the lower ride. Maybe I need to go take an 09 Street Glide out to see how bad it really is. Most people I have heard talk say the 09 is worse than the 08 and earlier SG's.

Or you could just put an air ride on it.

There's always that option.

I'm considering a Limited and have the same issue.

Does the air ride system only lower the bike at stop and rise as you ride?
Do you have a link to the best system?

Thanks

Yes I heard you. Not going that route. A friend of mine had one installed on his SE Ultra to the tune of $1200. Well while out of a ride about 200 miles from home something in the system took a dump and he was riding home with no air in the shocks the whole way. Not a very good ride.

Cheaper than going back to an 08 for sure.
