I run a 07 SG with a 21/18 wheel combo. I have an Arnott air system on the back and dropped the front 2 inches. Having the adjustable on the fly air ride helps with ride quality, and when I want it slammed it's there. The shocks I have extend to 13 inches, so if I air it up, I actually have more travel than the stock SG, and I don't run into clearance issues. The front for the roads i drive on is too much...I bottom all the time, and intend on raising it at least an inch to get some more travel back.
Do people lower their bikes purely for the look, or does it do something to the handling? Or is it more for getting your feet flat on the ground for those with shorter legs?

Personally I did it for looks....which I don't regret doing......and at 6'1" I do like sitting lower to the ground flat footed....may have lost some comfort in the ride.....but I like it that way!

I lowered my EGC 1" in the rear with the Street Glide shocks to make it easier to flat foot it. After riding it for 19,000 miles lowered I'm ready to go back to the stock shocks. I initially didn't think it affected the ride, but now I'm convinced that it did. It rides pretty rough and I hope putting the stock shocks back on will fix it.
