Default Any one using a set of componets in there bike?

Hi, Just ordered up my amp and I'm trying to figure out which speakers to go with, I have Jbl 5.25's in there now and sound ok but won't handle the amp's power, Is any one using a set of components like 6.5's and then mounting the tweeters on there fairing or is everyone using the Hog pod? Not bashing there product but seem to me you can get a pretty awesome tweeter set up for $150-175. Open to all Ideas, Haven't ordered any speakers or tweeters yet. Thanks ahead for info, Todd

I have an Alpine X-100, ARC mini amp, and some Alpine components. Sounds great!

I asked a question about using the Hog Tunes tweeter pod in a component set-up, running mid bass drivers in the stock speaker location, but never got an answer. Seems like it would be a good idea but not gonna try it if it wouldn't work.

I went with the Boston Accoustics PRO60SE components. I thought they sounded way cleaner than the Infinity's, but they cost a lot more.

I'm running a:

Kenwood KVT 7" DVD touchscreen
2 of the Alpine PDX 4.150 amps.....1200 total watts
6 1/2" Boston Accoustic PRO60SE components in the batwing
5 1/4" Rockford Fosgate speakers in the Ultra seat pods
4 of the Pioneer Premier 6 X 9's, 2 in each hard bag

The sound is super clean, super loud, and worth every penny.

I haven't heard a bike that even sounds close to it.

What amp are you going with ??

Yep, the SE's are a great speaker set. Did you mount the tweeter in the fairing or Vari-mount? I did the Vari-mount with my 50SE's but would really like to go with the 60SE's ONLY if I can Vari-mount them. I'm away from home for a couple more months before I can experiment more.

I kept the tweeter mounted on the speaker itself. I had 2 make some 6 1/2 " spacers, with the section cut out for the tweeter mount.

I didn't know if it would stick out too far to get the batwing back on, but.................it worked out well !!

I'm going to try That Wetsounds Amp, Same as the Arc Audio, But It is supposed to be Water proof, Have had a few guys from another post really like them and the Price is pretty reasonable, If I don't like it, Then I might try the Biketronics 180 x 2How has that kenwood held up? Those are great looking amps. Have you had any problems with your amps? They look a little bigger where did you Mount them etc? Thanks for your input your bike must sound amazing..

The 2 Alpine PDX 4.150's are mounted in the tour-pack.

I am going to do a write-up on the complete system in a week or so. Just moved, family issues, construction issues on house, etc, UGH !!

Need more hours in the day !!

Might want to check out the new J+M,s. They just came out with a 7.25 in. component set. Mid+ tweeter are grill mounted so you don't have to cut into your dash.
