What are you using for license plate bracket when you buy the quick detach tour pack kit. Im wanting to keep the turn signal bar with the stock turn lights, but put the plate below the rear brake. Any help would be great.
Looked into this but hadn't pulled trigger. SoftBrake offers one pn SB-SSLRP and JP Cycles pn 3400012 in ~$40 range. JP Cycles also had a laydown red ataillight lens with clear bottom for illuminating lic plate pn 3400541.
does the bracket keep the plate off the rear fender, so as not to scratch it. was it pretty easy to mount. thanks for the pick. it is exactly what im looking for. just confirming, is that the softbrake mount, i noticed there were two that will work. which one is it. thanks again.

Take a look at any 2009 Electra Glide Standard or 2009 Road King (not the Classic) and you'll notice they already come with the wide pancake bar & lights, but with the license plate mounted below. That's what I did with mine. Actually I should say "doing" because mine are being powdercoated and I haven't got all the parts back. Looks basically the same as frontiercat's photo. Try to buy it from somebody rather than H-D, otherwise it'll cost stupid money. I got mine used as a new take-off on eBay, saved a sh!!load.
Just waiting for some last minute parts, but will post pics when all the parts are f-i-n-a-l-l-y here.
It took about 15 minutes total (including time to remove the original tag bracket). The new tag bracket has a rubber bumper on it. I still put a small piece of 3M clear vinyl between the bumper and the fender.
I was the same on the look of the original bracket...just kind of ugly on the back side with the tour pack off.
I followed frontiercats look but added the H-D chrome license plate (59863-94T) to finish it off. I also added the Bar & Shield plate kit (41161-01) like he did. I added a strip of weatherstripping on the underside to provide a little more protection. Thanks for the help frontiercat!
