Just know that the end will be quick. You hit that while fly'n through the air and you will be in 2 or 3 pieces....

Can't say I'd want to hit anything (even a traditional guard rail), especially while fly'n through the air...

Up here in Ontario, the Jersey Wall has been the accepted practice for years. Jersey Wall barriers are much safer overall. Cable barriers will mangle a biker, also when a car hits a jersey wall barrier a glancing blow, the damage to the car is a lot less than hitting a cable barrier. In most cases, a cable barrier gets hit, there is a lot of repair work to be done to the barrier, Jersey wall gets hit, mostly just surface damage and nothing structural.

All I can think of when I ride next to them is a scene from "Final Destination" getting cut in half....yikes.

Yep. I-94 in St.Clair county near Port Huron.
There aren't too many things I would like to hit at highway speeds.
But instead of splat I guess you will end up in a couple pieces.

They are not effective at stopping anything. Here in Washington the state DOT has been sued because of many vehicle cross over accidents that are a direct result of the cable barries not being able to stop a vehicle. There was a major accident a few miles from my house on I-5 where a southbound SUV went right through the cable barriers and hit a north bound vehicle head on causing a chain reaction accident. I don't recall how many people lost their lives but it was a lot, then a few months later almost in the exact same spot it happened again with loss of life. It has also happened in other parts of the state as well and all the DOT could say was "Their safe".....

I beg to differ, use caution and keep an eye out when riding around them.

Yep, we got 'em here in Spokane (WA) too. On I-90 between Spokane Valley and the Idaho state line. The state seems to need a certain number of deaths before they realize the folly of their doing. They worried about a few basalt outcroppings being 4 ft. too close to the highway (new regs) and spent millions to remove them and then put those body slicers in the medians. Go figure.

When a vehicle hits the cable barrier, it will cause chunks to come off the vehicle and act like shrapnel into opposite lanes, jersey wall barriers keep the chunks in the collision side of the barrier..
