Labor for 16" Apes on 09 Streetglide
#23
I had 12" on 08 XL1200 N and over 10,000 in 6 months, 07 FXDBI 17000 12" inch in 7 months, so you are correct with the 12's but once you go higher it affects circulation, and put your hand in the wind which defeats the purpose of a fairing especial if you ride in the winter months like me. O i should prob mention I was only referring to touring model with fairings...
16" apes on my batwing...the batwing's ONLY purpose is to house my stereo system (regardless that my stereo system does not meet audiophile standards), it serves it's purpose to the best of it's capabilites...and makes my rides more enjoyable.
Block wind off my hands (defeats the purpose)...? I ride 1 hour (oneway) to work everyday (when I'm not deployed) and yes, despite the fact that I live in SoCal it can get in the 20s-30s during my morning commmute at 0500. I just put on my winter gloves and "man up" for the ride. When I get to work, a nice hot cup of coffee warms my hands right up.
I will agree with you about one thing (to a certain degree), why trailer a "Touring" bike. At my age, the thought never crosses my mind. But, at my Dad's age (who's been riding longer than I've been alive), I would gladly trailer my bike with him on a long haul if he needed to.
Main point I would like to make...to each his own and respect the right to express yourself anyway you would like, especially with your Harley!
