high horsepower baggers VS 600cc crotch rockets
#71
Anyone who thinks that any HD bagger, given equal riders, will take any 600 sportbike from light to light, needs to see a shrink. Having had many a rice-rocket (even a few 600's), it ain't gonna happen in the twisties and it ain't gonna happen at the lights, except maybe a 10 yard light. I suppose you could put bags on a v-rod that has work and a wheelie bar and do well. Weight is just too big an obstacle to overcome in the case of the HD. Just my 2 cents.

Funny why some feel the need to justify their small jap bikes by telling the world how bad they can beat on a Harley.Really says a lot to me,like the ladies men that brag about all their female conquests that are not getting any.If any of you running those little fours need an ego boost head up my way I will make it easy for you to ride away highly inflated! The same ole same ole,If you have to ask why I prefer riding fast Harleys don't bother,You would never understand!

I don't think anyone's justifying anything. Harley's aren't as fast as Ninjas. Ninjas aren't as comfortable or stylish as Harleys. They're two different tools for riding. I've owned and ridden both, and there's no question which I'd rather have in my garage now (that'd be the two Harleys I own).

My roomie 6'3 + and about 275lbs on a Ducati 848
Me 5'6 and around 135 on an 09 Crossbones with a Stage1 upgrade
I beat him off the line at a light ONLY because he could not keep the front end down. After an 1/8 miles there was no way I could have stayed ahead. A bagger really doesn't stand a chance.
As to experience he and I have both spent countless hours on the track on 600 and 1000cc bikes so that was an equal factor

My bike( 98 roadking ) has the standard jims 131ci engine and im not doing anything to it . with 135-140? hp and 130-135? torque the power will overrun the flexable flier chassis as it is lol. I just read a few of the guys on here had like 160hp to 190hp or some insane numbers !. My Buell XB12R Firebolt race bike I have decimates the 600cc sportbikes ( even beat a zx10 or 14 ? it was red ? the zx14 colors ) But thats a different story it has parts from all over the world Drag bike set up motor from NRHS and even Buell factory race parts .... BTW it did cost a small fortune and ALOT of work to beat a stock 1000cc jap bike . But its fun beating the Japanese 1000cc crotch rockets with a Harley engine . Handling wise The Buell has them hands down ( a 600cc is actually tougher to beat on a tight track) Jake
I love the blast they handel great with the short wheelbase. They are a blast in the tight twisties with all the torque to pull outa the corners.
But don't bring a knife to a gun fight. The japs and itailians got the speed and quickness down.

I started out on a Ninja 250 and let me tell ya, that thing was super sick. Quick as hell and just as light. That was a fun *** little ride. I'm actually thinking about getting another one just to play on.

Or you could consider a minmoto or Pocketbike!
