Smoked Lenses need Colored Bulb?

Yup, plenty bright. If you think they're too dim you could always pick up some LEDs, too.

D.O.T. current regulations specify that there are two colors for front illumination... white for headlight, amber for front turn signal. this can be accomplished by using amber bulbs behind the smoke or clear lens. for the rear, red for the stop/tail light. red or amber for the rear turn signals.

If you haven't purchased bulbs, check out the GE Silverstar. Personally I hate the amber bulb look behind the smoked lenses. The GE bulbs are almost clear or slightly smoked when the ignition is off (no power). Once powered they are amber and they look great with smoked lenses while sitting or riding.
For the rear Auto Zone has a red LED with the 1157 socket. While off they are clear when on they are red. The part # is 343446. Both of these bulbs make the smoked lenses really stand out.
