I think I finally got rid of swirl marks

It is best to avoid putting swiril marks in your paint, my advice is never wash in a circular motion, always wash using strait horizontal motion and lots of soap. Horizontal marks dont show as much and will polish out better. Also if you machine polish, afterwards use a swirl remover or cleaner wax by hand in a horizontal motion. I had a black 1997 softtail since new and never had a swirl in it. The paint looked as good as a new bike even in the sun.
Hope this helps.

Meguiar's (and nearly every other manufacturer of paint care products) has some nice glazes that will help level your paint. Same with polish. Most of these products contain fine abrasives that even out scratches, swirls, and imperfections. Not necessarily what you want to use after each wash, however.
I like Adam's car care products personally. They sponsor a lot of car forums, maybe we can point 'em in this direction?

I have to say that a guy who hangs with my local wrench has a classic / black bike, and the 3M hand glaze is all he uses on his paint, windex with ammonia on his chrome, and I think he said 'ducks' on his leather? I have never seen such a perfectly kept bike... showroom condition at all times... let us know how it works!

P.S. No kidding, tell us again. I've got a black bike and I'm searching for a good easy, fast way to keep it looking good.

Grott's Garage buffer and Machine Polish 3 removes all the swirl marks with little effort. You won't find a swirl mark on my black 06. The buffer is idiot proof which is good for me.
