Question Swing arm bushings ?

98 Ultra, how does one one check the swing arm bushings, is there anything that would be noticed while riding, or on the jack.
Thanks

If it were me and since yours is an older bike, I'd simply replace them with the poly bushings from Sta-bo. Check them out HERE

Sta-Bo are made of delrin, go one step further also and update the swing arm to a 02 or newer swing arm, I have done a couple of them now and all swear by the new stable ride and no wobble. Sta-Bo makes a bushing to use the new swing arm and the old size shaft.

So what are the bennifits by going to the 02 & newer swing arm? I have a 99 & on certain bumps I hear a clunk, but don't notice any wobbles or anything odd. Thanks

Dawg, does the Sta-Bo increase vibrations over the stock set up? I'm also interested in this question, and I just ordered two new Rear Rubber Mounts for my '01.

No noticeable difference. It also helps with stability.

The Glide Pro is very good. I plan on going with their front motor mount when I am in need of one.

I have the Velva Ride and 'think' it's ok. I've been having a vibration issue for the past 2000+/- miles and now I'm replacing the stabilzer links and the rear rubbers, and thinking I might as well change out the whole swing arm with new parts, and hope that cures the issue. After that, I'm thinking motor issues. The dealer service mgr rode it the other day, and doesn't think it rides too much different than other 2001s. I can't ride at a steady 30mph without shaking my butt off. I get the vibrations at certain low RPMs. Say 10 mph in 1st, 20 mph in 2nd, 30 mph in 3rd and etc. Faster is smoother.
