Default Change MM TB

Can anyone tell me if the MM EFI is a CAN Bus. I am doing some playing with a 04 TB. (I know that is a Delphi) But other than the idle stepper motor working opposite and the TPS having to be recalibrated why can’t a Delphi work electronically? I know fuel pressure will have to be raised. That can be done easily. The TPS is just a Hall Effect sensor. They use the same MAT. The MAP is outside of the manifold on the MM so that is not an issue. If this is a CAN system, then idle stepper motor operates on a square wave and should be able to be adjusted. If anyone has tried this please let me know what issues you had. Maybe I am being too simplistic but I fail to see why it will not work. The Power Commander would most likely need a custom map. If anyone has any info, even if you think I fell on my head, let me know.

Zippers has a MM conversion kit to convert it to Delphi. I'm sure if you contacted them and asked them your question, they could tell you. I've spoken with them several time and they have always been helpful.

Default MM to Delphi

I have an "01" Ultra classic with injector problems.. I don't want to go to carb on this one. Can't I Convert to an "o2" delphi with a wire harness and a Induction module kit assembly and still use my ECM and reflash it to Delphi?

Lucky, no you can't. You'd have to change your ECU. I ran a MM system for several years with an S&S VFI ECU. S&S has a mod where you relocated the MAP sensor to the intake manifold so the system mimmicks Delphi. Works like a champ. If you go this way, I'd spend the extra $200 bucks and add Closed Loop 02 sensors. That should solve your problem.

I don't "think" so. Zippers would be the one to ask.

On the S&S VFI, they relocate the MAP sensor to detect the rear cyl intake stroke for a sync pulse for syncing the sequential fuel injection system. With a dual throat intake/throttle body they can do it this way. The VFI system for MM uses serial communication only, no USB.

I may be wrong, but I believe the ECM "looks" for the matching TB, hence a Delphi TB won't work with an M&M ECM. The Thundermax dilemma is that when converting over from M&M you need to use a Zippers TB. At least that is what Zippers told me when I bought their kit a few years back. You may be able to use a HP Inc. TB, but I don't know or sure. On my '01 I went with the Zippers ECM and TB with auto tune. Now on the later Delphi bikes you can swap out the HD Delphi ECM for a T-Max ECM and keep the HD OEM TB. But like I said, I could be wrong.
