Cost to paint fairing and trunk?

What colors are you using? If one or both are tri-stage (base, tint, clear), the paint cost is higher, sometimes much higher than a simple paint, e.g. vivid black.
Is there striping in addition to the two-tone?
Who's going to disassemble/reassemble the tour pak?
Is the painter going to block sand the clear coat and re-apply to achieve zero orange peel?
Really, you know there are auto paint shops with wildly varying prices and it's no different with bikes. Just be sure you and the painter know exactly what he's doing and the quality of paint and supplies he's using.

SO true ! If you're going to compare pricing, make sure it's apples to apples, cuz if you get a better price from someone who'd leave out a process to cut the cost, you'll NEVER be happy w/the outcome.

Well on the tour pak I will disassemble it before hand and the same as for the fairing which is an aftermarket one piece unit. As far as pin striping I guess it would be pinstriped to split the gold color and the black but if he does not need to do it then no pinstip is needed. As far as I know it would be a basecoat clear coat finish.

Found a local painter who had painted a bike of mine a couple of years ago and he said he would paint both for $350. I know he is a great painter and if anyone is interested in getting some custom paint done should contact H&B Customs in Franklinton LA @ (985)839-7247. Attached is a photo of the 1500 classic he painted for me. His work is without a flaw! And he painted that bike for $850 complete.
